Lithuanian Mobility (8-12 December 2025)

From 8-12 December 2025, our school became a truly international hub; partners from Turkey, Spain, and Romania came together here as part of the Erasmus+ KA210 project "Cultural Connections: Enhancing EU Heritage, Social Inclusion, and Digital Literacy Through the Hearts of Our Students". This was the second mobility event of the project and was dedicated to a topic very close to us: scientific and creative thinking.
The guests arriving in Ukmergė and at our school were welcomed by a warm and responsible team: the school principal Miglė Kavaliauskė, project coordinator Virgilija Markevičienė, vice-head of education Inga Ilčiukienė, and English teacher Rusnė Valeikienė.
The Mobility Week, which began with music, dance, and the tranquility of Advent, started in a special way with a concert given by the school's volunteers, instantly filling the school with a warm and festive atmosphere. Dance teacher Ramunė Radzevičienė and music teacher Eglė Pratkelienė ensured a warm welcome for the guests, with the peace of Advent palpable in every corner. The Romanian team also joined the celebration, performing traditional Christmas carols.
Lessons where both students and guests learned something.
Following the festive start, guests met with school administration and teachers, visited classrooms and other areas, and actively participated in lessons.
The integrated math and art class for third-grade students, creatively directed by teacher Gintarė Milašienė, was a great success; students not only observed but also actively participated.

Teacher Deimantė Masevičienė of class 4b invited everyone to a paper-making workshop where old papers, linen scraps, and natural materials were transformed into new works.
The technology and robotics class led by teacher Daiva Butkienė was full of action. Here, international student and guest teams built an amusement park, from a Ferris wheel to swings, a carousel to a snack bar. Everyone worked amicably, connecting motors, coming up with names, and of course, happily testing how everything worked.
Moments of Commitment, Feelings, and Peace
Teachers Giedrė Pažūsienė and Vilma Šlubelienė introduced an interactive sandpit, and student assistant Vita Jurkėnė presented sensory room equipment used in therapy.
Special education teacher Jolanta Jankevičienė displayed various tools in her office that help students with special educational needs learn more easily and feel successful.
Movement and Competition
In fourth-grade teacher Dženeta Rimeisienė's class, there was no trace of sportsmanship; together with the students, real competitions were organized for the guests using the interactive wall in the gymnasium.
During the trip, participants visited a cultural heritage site, a farm, and took part in the "Petro kastinis" training program, tasting cheeses made using various methods and drinking a special herbal tea.
A Glimpse into the Universe – at the Molėtai Ethnocosmology Museum
During the trip, project participants also visited the Molėtai Ethnocosmology Museum, having the opportunity to explore the connection between humanity, culture, and the universe.
Learning Through Collaboration
Throughout the week, project objectives were realized through active activities, critical thinking techniques, discussions, and questions. International teams worked together, and tasks were adapted to different abilities; special attention was paid to students with special educational needs.
Activities such as "Discovering the Undiscovered," mind mapping, reinforcing lesson planning, and the creative presentation of mathematical tasks enabled project participants to become true creators of the learning process.

All activities were planned, designed, and executed by the project coordinator and computer science teacher, Virgilija Markevičienė. English teacher Rusnė Valeikienė also assisted, and the school principal Miglė Kavaliauskė and deputy education director Inga Ilčiukienė also participated in the events.
Teachers Audronė Vainauskienė and Svetlana Penkauskienė helped serve coffee, tea, and Lithuanian šakotis to the guests.
A week that touched hearts
These international mobility activities were successfully completed, and experiences and knowledge were shared on how cultural ties strengthen heritage, social inclusion, and digital literacy through the hearts of our students.
All participants evaluated the mobility program extremely positively; they smiled, were inspired, and expressed a desire to return.
